Mist is in the heart of The National Rhododendron Gardens, which are open 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily to the general public and exclusively to Mist@olinda from 5pm onwards. The Gardens in The Georgian Road, Olinda, are just 45 minutes drive from the heart of Melbourne (Melway ref: 66 K6). Visitors can travel by train to Croydon Station and the Route 688 bus from Croydon to Olinda or the train to Belgrave and the Route 694 bus to Olinda. (check www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au for details), and the Gardens are just a short stroll from the centre of this quaint hills town.
Arriving by car?
There are two main routes from the city / eastern suburbs.
1. Take the South Eastern Freeway (M1) (a toll applies - for more information go to www.citylink.com.au) and exit at Ferntree Gully Rd. Follow it to the end where it intersects with Burwood Hwy and turn right. Turn left after passing through Ferntree Gully to get onto the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd. Follow this road until you reach Olinda (from the south).
2. Take the Eastern Freeway (no toll applies) to its end and turn right into Springvale Rd. Turn left at Canterbury Rd and follow this road through to Montrose where it intersects with the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd. Follow the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd until you reach Olinda (from the north).
